These China Beach family photos in San Francisco were so sweet. This was a dream session with clients who truly value family photography as art and wanted to capture candid, love-filled, and silly photos of them together. It helps that they have the cutest one year old daughter and an equally adorable and rambunctious dog – both of who loved exploring the sandy beach and splashing in the water. Like many of my sessions, these were captured on a mix of digital and film.

San Francisco’s China Beach – The Perfect Location for Family Sessions

China Beach is one of my favorite places for family sessions, particularly on weekday mornings and evenings when it is less crowded. China Beach is a small, beautiful beach cove located in the Seacliff neighborhood. This is a great spot for weekday sunset sessions as well.

We had an exceptionally warm evening in early November for this session – and while the sunset was not super dramatic, the fog stayed back and we had beautifully clear views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, and the ocean.

This family session was very low key as they enjoyed their time together walking and playing along the sandy beach. I loved being able to capture this beautiful family and the candid moments they shared for them to cherish and look back on. I must say they also have an eye for style and natural beauty which shows in these family photos. They chose earth toned outfits which complimented the natural beauty of the surroundings and enhanced the overall aesthetic of the images.
