This sweet couple had such a beautiful maternity session in San Francisco both indoors and outdoors. They’ve embarked a lot of recent life changes. They recently moved from Oakland to San Francisco, purchased their first home, and were gearing up to welcome their first child. This session was low key and lovely. We started in their beautiful San Francisco home. Then we moved the session outdoors to the gorgeous Sunnyside Conservatory nestled in their neighborhood, followed by a stroll along the bluffs down to Thornton State Beach! And of course, I captured this maternity session on a mix of digital and 35mm film!

A Beautiful Indoor & Outdoor Maternity Session

It was so special to be able to witness the connection between mom and dad on the brink of parenthood. Starting out in their light filled home where I captured more intimate photos of mamas pregnant body and the two of them together, along with their sweet furbaby! Afterwards, we took some in their living room of them just enjoying each others company. We then headed out to the hidden gem that is Sunnyside Conservatory which is tucked in between two streets in their neighborhood. It makes for the perfect backdrop for an outdoor maternity session. It’s a stunning old Victorian structure that’s surrounded by lush succulents and greenery.

The weather was sunny and warm, an extra special treat during summertime in San Francisco. We then headed out to the coast as our final stop and made out way down to Thornton Beach. This beach is also a hidden gem – a bit farther south from the more popular Funston and Ocean Beaches, it offers dramatic views along the coastal bluffs and a winding path down to the beach. Mama was feeling adventurous, so we made our way down to the water!
