Nichole and Matt’s Miners Foundry wedding in Nevada City, California was such a special one. They each got ready at beautiful Victorian inns, surrounded by historic charm that carried throughout the entire day. From their first look at these thoughtfully designed spaces to their ceremony at the Foundry, every part of their wedding was intentional.
After nine years together, this day marked the official blending of two families, with both Nichole and Matt bringing their teenagers into this next chapter together. The day was full of personal details, like hand-sewn handkerchiefs and custom matches to handwritten name tags. And their marching band processional added such fun energy that made the whole experience feel even more personal!

Nichole started her morning at Moonrise on Mill Street Inn while Matt got ready at The Parsonage 1865, both spaces full of character and beautiful light. I loved capturing the little details of the day, like the Nichole’s dress, shoes, and jewelry. Her Liz Martinez gown was truly stunning! Everything felt thoughtful while still relaxed and personal to them.
Once they were both ready, Nichole made her way over to The Parsonage for their first look. The two locations were just around the corner from one another, making them the perfect getting ready spots for both. It was such a sweet moment, set in a space that was full of charm.

After their first look, Nichole and Matt made their way to Miners Foundry, which was just a short two-minute walk from The Parsonage 1865. That’s one of the perks of getting married in a small town. Everything is close together, making it easy to move from one part of the day to the next.
Once they arrived, they spent a few moments mingling with guests before heading into their ceremony in The Upper Gallery. The space has beautiful archways and chandeliers overhead. Nichole was walked down the aisle by her two sons, which was so special. Their ceremony felt a little untraditional, with guests gathered in a circle around them. It created such an intimate atmosphere. Including their children at the altar made it even more emotional, and it truly felt like the blending of their families in that moment.

After the ceremony, Nichole and Matt kicked off the next part of their Miners Foundry wedding with the most fun marching band processional through downtown Nevada City. It felt like they brought a little New Orleans energy to this charming small town. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, with the sun beginning to set and casting the dreamiest golden light. It made their walk through the streets feel even more celebratory!
We flowed right into golden hour portraits, soaking up that last bit of light. It was such a fun and meaningful way to celebrate with their people, while also carving out a quiet moment together in the middle of it all.

Cocktail hour was held in The Foyer, where guests gathered and mingled in a really warm, inviting space. It was the perfect transition from the processional and portraits. There were so many thoughtful touches, like hand sewn handkerchiefs, custom matches, and handwritten name tags for guests.
From there, everyone made their way into The Stone Hall for the reception. Originally a machine shop, the space is now filled with exposed beams, stone walls, chandeliers, and so much character. Nichole and Matt made a sparkler entrance before the night unfolded into an evening full of energy, dancing, and great food (pizza!). It felt fun, intentional, and true to them as a couple. Overall, Nichole and Matt’s wedding was certainly one to remember, and I’m so honored to have been trusted to document their day!

Throughout the day, I would occasionally pull out my film camera to capture a few moments on film. There’s just something about the softness and nostalgia it brings that feels so fitting for a day like this! I love the way these turned out and how they add another layer to their story.

A Miners Foundry wedding is such a great fit for couples who want something that feels personal and a little different. It had so much historic character and flexible spaces, and it really allows you to shape the day in a way that reflects your story. Nichole and Matt leaned into that, from the meaningful details to the untraditional moments, creating a day that felt their own.
