I love when clients pick locations that have special meaning to them. The Berkeley Rose Garden has been a cherished spot for this couple on their journey to parenthood, so it made sense to capture this transformative time before they welcome their little one among the roses and towering oak trees. Truly the perfect location for an East Bay maternity photography session. Like many of my sessions, I captured this one on a mix of 35mm film and digital!

A Joyful Maternity Session at Codornices Park & Berkeley Rose Garden

They brought their fur baby along for photos in Codornices Park across the street since animals are not allowed in the garden itself. The combination of the two parks, right across the street from each other nestled in the foothills of North Berkeley, are a favorite outdoor location.

Not only is this great for maternity sessions, but it’s also a wonderful family location. This is why you’ll find it on my “Top East Bay Area Photography Locations For Family Photos” blog!

You’ll find an abundance of roses, redwoods, beautiful oak trees, and so much more. And if you have children, there are many park structures including a famous concrete slide. This park has a little something for everyone, making it the perfect maternity or family session location.
