This fall family photo session at Piedmont Park was full of the most beautiful fall foliage and fall colors in the very heart of the East Bay of California! The grounds of Piedmont Community Hall make the perfect backdrop for not only family sessions, but engagement sessions as well.
This family was hoping for some fall colors, and Piedmont Park and the beautiful Japanese maples surrounding the Japanese Teahouse came to mind, so that’s where we headed!
In addition to stunning backdrops of orange and red colors, the trees are perfect for kids to climb and families to squeeze in close. Perfect for snuggles and connection-based photos. Additionally, the park includes a small redwood grove, a Japanese Teahouse and gardens, a large lush lawn, a water fountain, winding trails lined with redwood trees, a playground, and this beautiful oak tree with a spot for sitting and climbing.
This is such a kid and family-friendly location, which is why I love shooting family sessions here! It offers so much for families, especially those with younger children. It was the perfect place to explore and capture images of this sweet family.
This family’s session was rained out earlier in the fall, so we had to reschedule for a date close to the holidays. This session is a perfect example of not being afraid of having to reschedule. Sometimes a change of plan leads to an even better photo location!
This family is an active, outdoorsy family who is often on the move, so they knew they wanted their session outside. The younger sister was slow to warm up, but she eventually came around thanks to the comfort of her dolly. The older sister was fun and full of independence from the start! She even set the tone of adventure and cuddles with mom and dad.
We had a lot of fun exploring the various pockets of the park and the beautiful scenery of each location. And as it turns out, the mom and dad had their wedding at the Piedmont Community Hall! We ended up capturing a few photos as a recreation of their “first look” wedding photos!
